***DAILY DO’S – WEDNESDAY 6PM EDITION***
Kudos to everyone who made calls this morning. It’s the thousands of seemingly small acts that start adding up to something big. 1. Republicans made a move today that they hope will signal the end of the Affordable Care Act (http://nyti.ms/2hUtvU3). It’s our job to stop that from happening. As we saw on Tuesday, Congress will back down if people show their support for the existing law. This handy article in today’s Washington Post (http://wapo.st/2jbI3k) talks about what the Democratic Party can do to defeat the repeal. It has a few useful take aways for us. First get ready to tell Congress over and over again not to repeal Obamacare. Second, share your stories about why the Affordable Care Act matters to you. Practice in the comments below. Check back here in the coming days and weeks for more timely ways to help preserve health care for millions of Americans. 2. I’m a long-time Washington resident (has it really been 15 years?), but I’m still proud of my Oregon roots. Today Senator Ron Wyden from my home state, along with Senators Kaine and Warren introduced a new bill requiring Trump to disclose his tax returns. Since it’s too late to start calling our elected officials tonight, join Senator Wyden in a tweet storm. Find Wyden’s tweet here: http://bit.ly/2jbRakY. Use the hashtag #taxreturns. For more information on the bill read about it here: http://bit.ly/2icI1Ey. 3. Looking for something to do this weekend? Head over to Ballard for a free course in Civil Disobedience 101. Join Our Revolution Ballard and a few special guests to learn how to more effectively participate in and plan civil disobedience events. Details here: http://bit.ly/2j6mPjy. Live outside of the Seattle area? Share your weekend events in the comments. #DailyDos #PantsuitAction #PantsuitUniversity
