*** YOUR DAILY DO’S - THURSDAY 6 PM EDITION ***
Good evening Pantsuiters! 1. Great work today contacting your reps about REINS! Despite significant outcry, it passed the house (as expected), and will now move on to the Senate. Do not be disheartened if you contacted your reps about REINS, particularly if you contacted Republican reps who voted along party lines despite your voiced disapproval. Your next step? Call your representative tonight and leave a message. Let him or her know your thoughts on their votes. Because we’re still here, and we’re still talking. 2. One of the things we want to do is help everyone in this group understand how their everyday decisions can be elevated to make a difference on a larger scale. For example, if you’re a runner, you could post in this group asking if anyone is interested in building a 10K or half-marathon team, to train together and raise money for a worthy organization. If you’re a voracious reader, you could put out an invitation to other Pantsuiters to join a book club. Comment here with some of your favorite pastimes, passions, and hobbies, and let’s work on ways that we can Pantsuit them out! 3. Do a little bit of homework for me tonight and read this article about how to have productive conversations about race! Alliance (or Accomplicehood) is NOT like riding a bike. It is never acquired. Everyone here has room to grow! http://bit.ly/2fSreFg #DailyDos
