*** YOUR DAILY DO’S – THURSDAY, 7 AM EDITION *** 1. Contact Marco Rubio STAT. If you missed it, he really pulled through for human rights today during the hearing. http://bit.ly/2imz5z3 Rubio is supposed to be the swing vote on Tillerson, and he needs to know where we stand. Call him AND Email him through his website: https://www.rubio.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/contact 202-224-3041 (Script in Comments) 2. Decisions are made by those who show up. If the events of this week are any indication, we have to show up like never before. No more putting it off. It’s time to activate. It’s time to engage. Make a promise to yourself that you will show up, and then pick an event THIS MONTH to show up to. I’ll be at three of them: Citizen University’s Civic Saturday 1/14 - http://bit.ly/2imq3lq Kids & Race, Changing the Narrative 1/21 - http://bit.ly/2j9ZNMv LWV’s Action Workshop 1/28 - http://bit.ly/2jlVZVH The LWV workshop is almost full but they actually added a date for us when we sold out their last workshop in a matter of hours. If you want to go to this, I encourage you to register, and if there’s enough demand they might set up another date (or give you a full refund.) Comment in the post and tell us where you’re showing up this month! See who you can inspire and connect with! 3. Time to take a deep breath, team. It’s been a big week. We’re spinning. It’s time to unplug for fifteen minutes, recharge. Tell the voice inside your head that’s always screaming, hoarsely, “You’re not doing enough,” to take a break. You’ve done more this week than you likely have ever in your life. Everyone, we’re going to do some affirmations. STOP ROLLING YOUR EYES. I am COMPLETELY SERIOUS and this is NOT OPTIONAL. It’s time for some good old-fashioned self-talk here. Step 1: Find a quiet place where nobody will interrupt you. Step 2: Take 5 deep breaths, long ones, the kind that fill your whole belly. Step 3: Repeat after me: I am courageous and I stand up for what’s right. I have endless talents, which I begin to use today. Every experience that I have helps me learn and grow. All that I seek is already within me. I am capable of doing great things. When I speak from the heart, I am powerful and compassionate. If you have any other go-to affirmations, please add them in the comments below! #DailyDos
