***DAILY DO’S – FRIDAY 7AM EDITION*** Wendi Lindquist
I admit it. I gave up reading the transcript of yesterday’s so-called press conference before I made it half way through. It was hard to decide whether I was more offended by his butchering of English grammar or the random, sometimes racist, always confusing things he said. (Okay, it was the latter, but if you ever worked as an editor or passed an English class, you understand).
This morning I’m asking you to show the president, congress, and everyone else that we have real concerns that can’t be garble-mouthed away.
1. Start your day by demanding that the Senate Committee on Intelligence conduct a full investigation into Flynn and his ties to Russia. For a list of reasons why we need to look into all of the administration’s connections to Russia see: http://bit.ly/2kve4Qb and http://bit.ly/2kQ5lZX.

Joe Manchin WV 304-342-5855 or 202-224-3954
Kamala Harris CA 202-224-3553 or 415-355-9041
2. Scott Pruitt’s confirmation vote to head the EPA is scheduled for around 10am PST. While we’re unlikely to block the nomination, there’s no reason why we can’t put the pressure on one more time. Call your senators and thank them for opposing Pruitt and then encourage friends and family with Republican senators to do the same. Bonus, you can call your representative and tell him or her why you think they should vote against HR 861, which would “terminate” the Environmental Protection Agency. Either way, it’s important that we take a strong stance for clean air and water.
3. The president spent a lot of time focusing on how terrible the media is and how unfairly it treats him. This from a man whose staff have only been taking softball questions from extremely conservative “news” organizations in recent days. We’ve asked it before, but it’s time to do it again, show your support for solid journalism by subscribing to newspapers like the New York Times or Washington Post—who broke the Flynn story earlier this week—by donating to NPR, or liking Dan Rather’s media project “News and Guts.”
